Talan Canada is growing and looking to strengthen its team with a Project Manager for the Montreal office, who will be interested in working with clients from multiple industries.
- Coordinates infrastructure migration activity between technical teams, application teams, change management and key stakeholders
- Oversees/Manages/Leads project execution, integration and implementation
- Coordinates activities, resources, and information sharing ensuring the delivery of projects and key milestones
- Monitors, tracks and reports on project’s progress to stakeholders and other governance bodies
- Proactively manages performance, cost, scope, schedule, quality and other key project management activities
- Identifies, manages, and escalates risks, issues and change requests to appropriate decision makers
- Develops, manages and maintains the project work plan, schedule, risk / issues, and documentation utilizing project management tools and techniques
- Makes certain that clients’ needs are met as projects evolve
- Successfully manages projects numerous resources – including those functionally aligned as part of the project and organizationally aligned resources
- Responsible for the end-to-end integration of various work streams in order to deliver the intended project solution
- Oversees periodic weekend project execution activities – every 2-4 weeks
- Manage work stream and governance meetings, maintains meeting minutes and action item follow ups
- Analyzes risks by probability and severity to assess their impact on project delivery; Implements solutions to mitigate risk threats
- Balances needs of multiple stakeholders. Gains buy-in from groups who may be resistant to change
- Manages projects according to work plan. Performs critical path analysis
- Creates budget reports to compare actual with forecasted costs
- Defines roles and responsibilities of team members
- Develops deliverable acceptance plans and criteria
- Develops strategic rationale for change including costs, benefits, tradeoffs, etc.
- identify lessons learned and applies the lessons learned to future projects.
You must live in the Great Montreal area and possess a valid work permit.
- Experience as an IT project manager in a broad range of infrastructure related projects, including network, server and database solution deployments
- Background in technology, Linux, Microsoft Server, networking and middleware, with the ability to coordinate with subject matters amongst these teams
- Self-starter, proactive and works well with diverse groups
- Clear, concise written and verbal communication skills with ability to communicate to both technical and non-technical audiences, as appropriate
- Comfortable facilitating and presenting to groups
- MS Project, Outlook, Excel, Visio and PowerPoint advanced experience required
- Possesses professional knowledge of product / function and applies knowledge to project activities to enhance delivery
- Deeply understands all project management disciplines and their key activities, processes, and artifacts
- Understands the relationship of their project(s) to the overall program
- Leadership – Ability to work with team members to set and achieve development goals and provide constructive feedback throughout the project lifecycle
- Knowledge of a formal project management methodology (e.g. PMI, Prince 2, etc.) and/or the Technology SDLC/PDLC Process, project planning tools (eg. MS Project) and project change strategies
- General Project Management – Experience creating appropriate project documentation, balances stakeholder needs, and effectively negotiates tradeoffs between scope, schedule, and budget;
- Schedule Management – Understanding of how to create, manage and understand impacts to project scope, constraints, and schedule.
- Cost Management – Experience developing and routinely reassessing project budgets to account for variances and ensures accuracy.
- Communication Management – Experience creating performance and status reports for relevant stakeholders
- Risk & Issue Management – Understands how to develop and manage project risk and issue management plans;
- Resource Management – Understands how to develop project organization chart and governance structures.
- Quality Management – Experience defining processes and standards around governance, communication, and quality.
- Change Request Management – Ability to identify and develop strategy for changes in scope, schedule, and cost.
- Implementation and Transition Management – Ability to create transition plans.
You must be in Montreal or be willing to relocated rapidly from anywhere in Canada.
