We are hiring a new permanent consultant to support an internal trading platform for Fixed Income (rates) products. The consultant will work closely with traders and needs to be proficient in SQL and UNIX.
Responsibilities:
- Capture user requirements and define appropriate solutions in line with the aims of the business and IT strategy. Advise on best practice for eTrading platform architecture
- Produce written specifications, ensuring they are reviewed and validated by users, peers and other stakeholders
- Produce and manage project plans and ensure communication of progress.
- Work alongside production support teams to roll out changes/new functionality.
- Develop pricing and electronic markets applications
- Provide tier-3 support of applications for front-office users
- Work closely with Global QA team; participate in end-to-end testing and functional UAT
- Face off to our business sponsors and research teams. Be actively involved in strategy discussions, problem investigation/remediation and work prioritisation
Minimum Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in a Math, Science, Engineering or Project Management discipline
- Good knowledge of rates business and products such as interest rate swaps, TBA/MBS, US Treasuries, TIPs etc
- Team player – the ability to work globally and act as a single IT voice representing the global team to local sponsors.
- Proven ability to analyze and document business and functional requirements
- Good communications skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Software development experience preferably
- Good awareness of regulations, data governance and cybersecurity
- Experience in SQL and experience working with SQL Server and/or Oracle
- Prior experience working in a technology team.at large global investment bank
- Familiarity with modern source control systems such as SVN, Perforce or Git
