A propos de Talan

For 20 years, Talan has advised major companies and administrations, supported them, and implemented their transformation and innovation projects in France and abroad. The Group places innovation at the heart of its development and operates in areas related to technological changes, such as Big Data, IoT, Blockchain and Artificial Intelligence.

Present on 5 continents, 13 countries, Talan plans to achieve a turnover of 600 million euros in 2023 for more than 6,000 consultants and aims to exceed the one billion € turnover mark by 2025. The North America teams have been rapidly growing, now counting around 600 employees, in Canada and in the USA, with recent mergers with Montrealer companies (Insum, Createch, Projexia).

Talan has been operating in Canada for 20 years, advising major companies in Finance, Insurance, Telecommunications, Services, Distribution, Public Sector. Our consultants are agile and pragmatic. We combine together consulting services, technological expertise and a capacity to deliver and deploy projects.

We do everything possible to ensure that our employees can thrive and grow at Talan. As a result, we have received the "Great Place to Work Canada" certification, which recognizes compagnies where it feels good to work.

Talan Canada is growing and looking to strengthen its team with experts for our Montreal office, to work with clients from multiple industries.

What's in for you?

At Talan, as Developers, we carefully handcraft software, tailor made for our customers, and always reflect on technologies and methodologies, at the opposite of integrating on-the-shelf products.

Our culture as developers has been built on:

  • Ongoing Meetups that embrace the team to create, share and develop knowledge together over a coffee (or else)
  • Coding dojos and Katas, set up on demand when a fellow craftsman ask for help
  • Daily catch ups, calls, coffee (yes, coffee) time to chat about new technologies and trends, anything and everything

You would join the Dev & Craft teams, working closely with our specialists and customers to produce the best value we can harvest to meet our clients’ needs.

On the technology side, we use the mainstream tools and frameworks, and we are always looking to improve and widen our set of skills. If you specialize in Java, C#, Python, JavaScript, or TypeScript come and join us! We use the trendiest frameworks and ecosystems (such as Spring, .NET, Node.JS, Angular, React, Vue.JS and more). And we are always looking to improve and widen our set of skills and technologies), and sometimes go out of the standard stack and play with Kotlin, Rust, NoSQL and any language or tool that meet our need.

Different customers meaning different needs, we adapt and develop skills on AWS, GCP, Azure, as well as our clients’ in-house platforms. Code and CI/CD platforms are are usually hosted on Gitlab, GitHub, Bitbucket or other rather standard tools.

We usually work for our clients’ projects, within our clients’ teams. We also have internal, R&D and innovation projects, all opportunities to learn new techs and methods.

We consider the work of a developer should be done in a team, on all the lifecycle of a product, from idea to production and maintenance, ideally in the Cloud and continuously integrated and delivered. Any and every feedback is an opportunity!

We believe it is possible to have a career in software development. At Talan, experience varies a lot, from 0 to 30 years, and there is no limit. If you think you are or can become an dev expert, let’s build your next career steps together.

If you are a smart, curious, motivated, and open person (bonus points if you like Lego | My Little Pony (unicorn option) | Playmobil | Meccano | Polly Pocket | Raspberry PI | Arduino…) we can guarantee we’ll find a challenging project for you to continue to grow and learn!

What would you bring?

  • Outside the box thinking. Innovation, creativity, and critical thinking is highly valued!
  • Ability to talk about a relevant project you’ve worked on (or even better share it with us)
  • Ability to communicate well and have fluid interactions
  • Your experience (ideally more than 4)

On a more practical note, we need people with functional knowledge of either English or French to join our Montréal office, and we expect our team members to learn the language they are not (yet) functional with.

Once part of the Talan teams, we’ll support you on all and every aspect of your career, in addition to the customer projects: planning, training, certifications, publishing, public speaking.

We’ll think together about the best direction to take on these themes, because we believe craftsmanship needs practice and sharing, over and over, collectively.
